Geographic Presence/Working Areas
Steps has working experience at 450 Unions, 55 sub-districts and 20 different districts under 8 divisions of Bangladesh as a part of its core program titled “Strengthening Movement to Advance Women’s Rights and Gender Equality”, implemented from October 2009 to September 2014. Steps also covered more than 500 educational institutions (including secondary schools, madrashas and vocational institutes) as well as local government institutions under these districts. Steps has implemented its core program in the following working areas over the years:
Since October 2022, Steps activities continued in 61 districts of the country through different projects. Specially, the project titled “Supporting LGED in monitoring Female Engagement, Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Risks Management in Rural Bridges Program” is being implemented throughout 19 LGED regions under 8 divisions of the country. The regions cover 61 districts and 491 Jashore upazilas. Name of the regions are as follows: Narayangonj, Dhaka, Chattogram, Mymensingh, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Noakhali, Bogura, Sylhet, Kushtia, Pabna, Madaripur, Dinajpur, Patuakhali, Barishal, Khulna, Faridpur and Comilla.
